Pharis Murang'ai

Founder & CEO

Pharis Murangai (Ph.D. candidate) has extensive experience and knowledge of running behavior change programs. For the last over ten years, he has been involved in designing and implementing socio-economic transformation programs through working for the government of Kenya and several non-governmental organizations.

Among his accomplishment; he is the co-founder of Institute of African families and the current Chief Executive Officer and author of the book titled “raising boys, a voice from an African father with an African perspective”.

He is also the founder and director of the Serene Green, a treatment center for addictions. Besides, for the last eight years, he has actively been involved in research and lecturing at Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi with a special interest in Culture, Religion and Human Development.

He is actively involved in his local church and has been providing capacity building sessions to various churches in the area of family care.  He is married with two sons.

His professional qualifications include; project management, social entrepreneurship, lobbying and advocacy, organizational development and conflict resolution and peace building.

Peninah Wacera (BCOM, CPA-K)

Finance Officer 

Peninah is a certified public accountant in Kenya (CPA K) and a member of the institute of public accountants in Kenya (ICPAK).

She has experience and expertise spanning over eight years in accounting and finance with special inclination to grant financial management and taxation.  She has worked in both corporate organizations and international non-government organizations with a track record of managing donor funding. She has managed HRSA, CDC and USAID grants.

Besides accounting and fundraising for IAF, she is a facilitator on family and personal development programs. She is also very passionate about making quality counseling and family therapy available and accessible to those in need.  She is deeply involved in her local church.

Cephas Ndaramu

Co-Founder & Chairman
As a founding member and Chairman, Cephas brings a wealth of over 13 years working experience in both local and multinational organizations. He is a Human Resources practitioner specializing as a consultant/Partner in organizations Learning and Development and plays a key role in ensuring organizations continuous learning to meet their strategic needs.

He has a deep love and passion for sharing knowledge as well as mentoring and coaching people both at corporate and the community level. In his community service, he serves as an elder and he is in the core of leadership in his local Parish in Nairobi Kenya where he is part of a team that offers oversight and strategic direction of the parish in meeting the needs of its congregants.

He has been able to influence and empower generations from the young to the old as he lives his purpose of serving his current generation to bring their best in life. This has seen him involved in a youth empowerment program and developing a mentorship program cutting across various aspect of life.

He holds an MBA (Strategic Management) Degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) a Graduates Certificate in Human Resources Management from Walden University, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Egerton University and a Diploma in Holistic Nurturing of Children. In addition; he is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).  He also sits in the Boards of several schools in Kenya.
